What Sandeep Maheshwari’s debacle taught us…

The more you think you know, the more you think of yourself. Sandeep Maheshwari’s recent debacle showed just that.

Don’t get me wrong, I like that guy. I think he’s a decent human being who has helped, inspired and changed life of many youngsters in India. However, I always found his content pretty basic, but that’s just my personal opinion. I might have viewed his few videos on meditation in the past, but it weren’t helpful to me so I stopped watching further. To each his own.

My only concern about his ongoing controversy (which you can search on google/YouTube, if you’re interested) is that no matter how much well versed you are with the Vedas or how much meditation you have performed in your life or how spiritual you claim to have become, there is always some scope for EGO, ANGER and ARROGANCE to enter in your mind and you can start behaving in a silly, childish way. You can ALWAYS get affected by a complex called ‘God syndrome’ and start bullying people by flexing the strength of your blind followers. Always be wary of that symptom.

And that is the risk with majority of Indian population who’re not freethinkers. What they do the moment they see such spiritual figures is that they leave their slippers and their educated brain outside the brainwashing center’s premises. They stop questioning the authority!
And it is not just with spiritual figures, this happens with every dang celebrity, politician or public figure.

In the end, no self proclaimed Baba or so called spiritual guru or motivational speaker can take you to the path to spiritual heaven, ONLY your own conscience can.

And never forget the golden line, “Never take life too seriously, you’ll never get out of it alive.”
